Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 18, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the Image Explorer mobile application (the “App”) handles information when you use it. Image Explorer is a reverse image search tool that lets you look up an image you provide across third-party image search engines. By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
1. Information we collect
The App is designed to work without collecting personally identifiable information. Specifically:
- No account required. We do not ask you to register, log in, or provide your name, email, phone number, or any other identifier.
- No analytics or ad SDKs. The App does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or behavioural tracking SDKs.
- Images you choose to search. When you tap a search engine, the image you selected (from your gallery, your camera, or a URL you pasted) is uploaded directly to that engine, or its URL is submitted to it, so it can return matching results. The image is not uploaded to any server operated by us.
- Locally stored data. Recent searches, history and preferences (if enabled in the App) are stored only on your device.
- Device & technical data. Network requests may include information that your operating system or the search engine receives by default (e.g., IP address, device type, app version, user-agent). We do not log or retain this information.
2. Permissions the App uses
- Internet access — required to submit images and load results from the supported search engines.
- Photos & Media / Storage access — used only when you choose to pick an image from your gallery to reverse-search.
- Camera — used only when you choose to take a new photo to reverse-search.
- Notifications (Android 13+) — used only to show search progress if applicable.
You can review or revoke any of these permissions at any time from your device's system settings. Revoking a permission may disable the related feature (for example, revoking Camera access disables “Snap & search”).
3. Third-party search engines
Image Explorer is a client that sends your chosen image to third-party reverse-image-search providers. When you select one of these engines, your image (or a URL referencing it) and standard network metadata are processed by that provider under their privacy policy. We do not control how these providers handle your data. Please review their policies:
- Google Images — https://policies.google.com/privacy
- Yandex Images — https://yandex.com/legal/confidential/
- TinEye — https://tineye.com/privacy
- Bing Visual Search (Microsoft) — https://privacy.microsoft.com/en-us/privacystatement
- Lenso AI — https://lenso.ai/en/privacy-policy
Images you upload to these services may be temporarily stored, processed, or analysed by them in accordance with their policies. If you do not wish a particular engine to receive your image, simply do not tap that engine.
4. Sensitive content and your responsibility
Because the image you select is forwarded to a third-party search engine, you should not use the App to search images that contain sensitive personal information (for example, government IDs, medical documents, or private photos of others) unless you are comfortable with that content being processed by the engines listed above. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to share any image you choose to search.
5. Cookies and tracking technologies
The App itself does not set cookies. The third-party search engines opened from within the App may set cookies inside their own results page; this is governed by their respective policies. This informational website (finder.imperialstudio.tech) does not set tracking cookies.
6. Children's privacy
The App is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has used the App, please contact us so we can advise on next steps with the relevant third-party provider.
7. Data security
Locally stored data (history, preferences, cached images) lives only on your device, so its security depends on your device's protections (screen lock, encryption, etc.). Network requests to search engines are made over HTTPS where supported by the provider.
8. Data retention and deletion
We do not retain user data on our servers. To delete locally stored data you can:
- Clear in-app history from the App's settings (if available).
- Clear the App's data and cache from Settings → Apps → Image Explorer → Storage.
- Uninstall the App, which removes all locally stored data.
To delete data that may be retained by a third-party search engine, please use that engine's own data-deletion process, linked from their privacy policy above.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR or CCPA), you may have rights regarding personal data. Because we do not collect personal data ourselves, most of these rights apply to the third-party search engines you choose to use. You may always contact us with questions.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
